Canberra, March 14, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on the last leg of his regional tour to Southeast Asia and the Pacific arrived in Canberra, Australia, on Monday.
Zarif is the first Iranian high ranking official to visit Australia after ten years.
He was welcomed by director general of Australian foreign ministry.
The Iranian foreign minister is to confer with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop on Tuesday on issues of mutual interest along with regional and global developments.
Zarif is to confer with Australian commerce minister, parliament speaker, shadow foreign minister from labor party, taking part in a luncheon, and deliver speech at Australian national university.
Meeting with Iranian intellectuals in Sydney, interview with Australian ABC news network are on agenda of the foreign minister during his stay in Australia.
