The nebulous landscape of YouTube’s regulations has become difficult for users to negotiate. James Allsup provides some insight into what he feels is at the hardened core of YouTube’s policies that effectively demonetize, silence, and censor. It is less about hypocrisy, as Allsup points out, and more about ideology. If your channel is ideologically aligned, you can say what you want with impunity. If you subscribe to a different, right-of-centre view that doesn’t jive with YouTube’s ideological bent, you will be censored in a variety of ways.
