Students Batia Bertho, Marjorie Broudieu and Salomé Le Lay from L’Ecole de Design Nantes Atlantique have developed transformer furniture that’s good for you; the Panorama can be reassembled as workout furniture.

Goodbye sofa and chair; instead you have a soft quilted carpet.
Thanks to the holes coming through the backrest, accessories can be fixed on the structure depending on your needs, whether it is for a lamp, a case file or a tablet.

For the fitness exercises, you just pull the handles to set the carpet in the appropriate position, thanks to the slots in the base. The volume created enables to practice strengthening exercises or sit-ups, but is also conceived to rest after the effort. Flexible, the central element allows to work on abdominal oblique muscles or the six pack, without hurting your back.

It reminds me of the work of Lucie Koldova that we showed last year in Everyday Furniture Transforms Into Home Gym. Lucie offered a more traditional workout, with easier to clean and wipe surfaces. Why not have both?
