Yahoo Reports Q2 Revenue of $1.22 Billion, Leaves Questions Unanswered

Yahoo has reported revenue of $1.22 billion for Q2, $461 million of that coming from search. The company also reported a 7% decline in display ad revenue and a 17% decrease in search, but left many questions unanswered — for example, we don’t know what will happen to Yahoo’s interim CEO Ross Levinsohn.

PayPal Acquires Card.io

PayPal has acquired San Francisco startup Card.io, which provides developers with the technology to capture credit card information by using a smartphone camera. The financial details about the deal have not been revealed.

Intel Reports Q2 Revenue of $13.5 Billion

Intel has reported Q2 revenue of $13.5 billion, with operating income of $3.8 billion and net income of $2.8 billion. The results were better than expected, but the company cut its outlook for Q3, citing “a more challenging macroeconomic environment.”

Sam Raimi No Longer the Director of World of Warcraft Movie

Sam Raimi is no longer the director of upcoming World of Warcraft movie. According to his own admission at the Comic-Con last weekend, he had to back out of the project due to scheduling conflicts.

“Actually, they don’t have me directing World of Warcraft anymore because when I took the Oz job, they had to move on to another director. … They had to start making it,” said Raimi.
