{"id":53496,"date":"2012-03-15T07:39:44","date_gmt":"2012-03-15T07:39:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chrisroubis.com\/2012\/03\/demandware-ipo-prices-above-expected-price-range\/"},"modified":"2012-03-15T07:39:44","modified_gmt":"2012-03-15T07:39:44","slug":"demandware-ipo-prices-above-expected-price-range","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jewworldorder.org\/demandware-ipo-prices-above-expected-price-range\/","title":{"rendered":"Demandware IPO prices above expected price range"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p class=\"first\">(Reuters) &#8211; <span class=\"yshortcuts\">Demandware Inc<\/span> priced its <span class=\"yshortcuts\">initial public offering<\/span> of 5.5 million shares at $16 each, well above its expected price range, valuing the <span class=\"yshortcuts\">company<\/span> at about $448 million.<\/p>\n<p>              The company, which raised $88 million in proceeds from the IPO, had expected to sell the shares between $12.50 and $14.50 apiece.<\/p>\n<p>              <span class=\"yshortcuts\">Demandware<\/span> is the fifth cloud computing-based software company to join the IPO wave since December.<\/p>\n<p>              Since December, <span class=\"yshortcuts\">Jive Software Inc<\/span> , <span class=\"yshortcuts\">Brightcove Inc<\/span> , <span class=\"yshortcuts\">Guidewire Software Inc<\/span>  and <span class=\"yshortcuts\">Bazaarvoice Inc<\/span>  have made their stock market debuts.<\/p>\n<p>              All these IPOs were priced within or above their indicated range, and have seen their stock surge since.<\/p>\n<p>              Cloud computing allows companies to access information on the Internet from remote servers rather than from their own computers in-house, which proponents claim helps cut costs.<\/p>\n<p>              As demand from businesses for this type of technology has climbed, so has interest from investors hoping to tap a global market.<\/p>\n<p>              According to two underwriters, Demandware closed the books for institutional investors a day early due to strong demand for the offering.<\/p>\n<p>              Demandware, which is backed by venture firms North Bridge Venture Partners and General Catalyst, posted a loss of $1.4 million on revenue of $56.5 million in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>              As of December 31, the company had 101 customers using its Demandware Commerce platform, including Crocs Inc , <span class=\"yshortcuts\">Lifetime Brands Inc<\/span>  and Columbia Sportswear Co .<\/p>\n<p>              Shares of the company are expected to begin trading on Thursday on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol &#8220;DWRE.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>              Underwriters to the offering included Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, William Blair, Oppenheimer, Canaccord Genuity and First Analysis Security Corp.<\/p>\n<p>              (Reporting by Sharanya Hrishikesh and Aman Shah in Bangalore; Additional reporting by Olivia Oran; Editing by Supriya Kurane)<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Views: 0<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Reuters) &#8211; Demandware Inc priced its initial public offering of 5.5 million shares at $16 each, well above its expected price range, valuing the company at about $448 million.
