A woman who claimed thieves had stolen her 52-inch television was caught out when police measured her window – and discovered that the TV would not have gone through it.

The television, which the woman said cost £1,200, was found hidden under her bed at her home in Paignton, Devon.

She had claimed that burglars had broken in and taken it out through a window – but police found the opening was too narrow.

They then obtained a search warrant and located the ‘missing’ item, still in the house.

The woman, who is in her forties, was fined £80 for wasting police time but was not charged with perverting the course of justice, reported the Daily Telegraph.

Detective Inspector Nick Walden said: ‘She was lucky.

‘She was a woman in her forties of previous good character, and that’s why she wasn’t arrested for perverting the course of justice.

‘When you report a burglary you sign a declaration to confirm that a crime has happened.

‘We do have a small proportion of crimes that are fraudulently reported – whether to get a crisis loan from the council or to fake an insurance claim.

‘We will take it very seriously because it ties up valuable resources and wastes police time.’

POLICE GOT THE MEASURE OF HER!

Oh dear, what a muppet!! And I cant for the life of me work out where that picture was taken? Doesnt look like Paignton to me!

A lying loser creep of a woman gets caught out , it is everyone else who would have had to pay for her lies had she not been caught out.

I know of a couple who were returning to Canada from a U.S. visit back in the 90’s, and attempted to save the duty charges by lying on their customs forms. A Canada Customs official noticed the undeclared jewelry, and dispite the fact that they were both in their 70’s, they were removed from their vehicle, strip-searched and charged. As they should have been. Yes, they were a nice, older couple who had never broken the law, UNTIL they broke the law. At that point they became criminals. And were treated as such.

Having been burgled the mess alone they made was horrendous. The first thing the loss adjuster asked me for was receipts for the items I was claiming for which I produced. I had been told not to clear up the mess as they wanted to see it which they photographed. I only claimed for what was stolen, nothing extra as some do. The woman who came to my house actually gave me £200 for new underwear as they had clearly rooted through it saying she wouldn’t like like to wear something that someone had pawed through. They replaced everything within the week and I had a monitored burglar alarm fitted the following week. For her to do this makes me so angry, if she had actually been burgled she would have been as devastated as I was that someone had been through all my cupboards and draws roaming through my home.

Well – it’s often said that women struggle to understand what an inch really is

Well the Police are quoted ‘We will take it very seriously because it ties up valuable resources and wastes police time.’
Well Obviously the Courts do not by finder her £80.

“The woman, who is in her forties, was fined £80 for wasting police time
” Someone seems to like her, I don’t think id be so lucky in the same situation, name and shame her.

Buy her a tape measure!

thats no problem,,just jail her now for 6 months ,,that will sort her out with stolen property.
