Woman ‘dared’ alleged killer: court papers

A NSW man has told police he killed his girlfriend after she dared to him to stab her during an argument over her marijuana use, court documents say.

Michael John Aller, 46, stabbed Amy Aiton multiple times on Tuesday afternoon after an alcohol and marijuana-fuelled argument at the townhouse they shared in Narara, on the NSW central coast, the documents allege.

Aller had met and moved in with Ms Aiton after leaving an alcohol rehabilitation centre less then two months ago.

He told police he left the unit late on Tuesday morning and bought alcohol for himself and marijuana for Ms Aiton.

Ms Aiton, who had suffered a stroke in 2004 that left her with limited movement in her left side and left arm, was half-sitting up in bed when he returned.

Aller was drinking cans of bourbon mix when they began arguing about how much marijuana Ms Aiton had smoked.

She noticed him looking at a paring knife on the bedside table that she used to clean out her bong.

She allegedly then said to Aller: “Go on, do it, or I will do it to you, you dumb c***.”

Aller told police she then slumped over and he stabbed her a number of times in the back.

He later covered her with a blanket, washed and changed into fresh clothes before catching a train to Sydney’s Central railway station.

After drinking all night at the nearby Criterion Hotel, he rang his mother on Wednesday morning, telling her, “Mum, I killed Amy,” the court documents state.

“Get the police to go over there. Do you remember where I live?”

Local police forced their way into the Narara home and found the victim lying dead in bed.

Early on Wednesday afternoon, Aller made his way back to the railway station where he identified himself to two uniformed police officers.

“I am wanted for the murder of my girlfriend,” he allegedly said.

He was cautioned, taken into custody and interviewed, where he admitted stabbing Ms Aiton.

The court documents state Aller has exhibited bouts of violence when intoxicated.

He appeared briefly in Parramatta Local Court on Thursday charged with murder.

Aller did not apply for bail, and it was formally refused.

His matter will come before Gosford Local Court on September 27.
