Woman charged over Qld fire death

A woman who escaped a Brisbane house fire has been charged over her partner’s death in the blaze.

The 43-year-old woman jumped from a second level window to escape the fire at Runcorn, in the city’s south, on Tuesday night.

She remains in Royal Brisbane Hospital with serious burns to her legs, arms and hands.

A body, believed to be that of her partner, was found inside the property on Wednesday.

Police say the woman was charged with murder and arson at a bedside hearing on Thursday afternoon.

She has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court of February 13.
