A 47-YEAR-old woman died in a horrific traffic smash in the Central Wheatbelt overnight.
The woman died about 10.30pm when the car she was driving collided with a truck on the Great Eastern Highway, 40km east of Merredin, about 300km east of Perth.
She was killed instantly.
The driver of the truck was taken to hospital and treated for shock but was otherwise uninjured.
Officers from the major crash squad are investigating.
