Susanne Posel (OC) : In Missouri the attorney general, Chris Koster, has concluded an investigation into Planned Parenthood which found no evidence that the clinic had illegally sold fetal tissue.
Koster’s office released their report which was initiated by Republican lawmakers who believed the highly-edited videos produced by the Center for Medical Progress (CMP).
The 3,500 page report documents interviews with Planned Parenthood representatives and pathology laboratory findings; as well as copies of lab reports and waste-disposal tracking paperwork.
According to the findings, Planned Parenthood in Missouri performed 317 abortions in June – just one month before the videos were released.
The report concluded: “As a result of our investigation, the Office of the Missouri Attorney General has found no evidence that Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region (PPSLR) has engaged in unlawful disposal of fetal organs and tissue.”
Missouri is not alone in finding no evidence to corroborate the CMP videos and Republican cries that fetal tissue is being harvested and sold.
South Dakota, Georgia and many others have not found proof that Planned Parenthood clinics have violated state laws and regulations regarding fetal tissue donations.
In Kansas, Planned Parenthood does not donate fetal tissue at all; nor do they give patients the option to donate.
Back in August, the government of the state of Pennsylvania became the 5th state to find no wrongdoing committed by Planned Parenthood.
Karen Murphy, secretary of the department of health in Pennsylvania said: “Although donation of fetal tissue is lawful under the Abortion Control Act and federal law, our review has found that Planned Parenthood facilities in Pennsylvania do not participate in this practice. Moreover, there is no evidence that any Planned Parenthood site in this Commonwealth is involved in the buying or selling of fetal tissue.”
Murphy confirmed that Planned Parenthood had “contracted with appropriate vendors to properly dispose of tissue” and has “never found a violation of the Abortion Control Act provisions regarding the procurement or use of fetal tissue.”
Indiana Governor Mike Pence, Republican and member of the Council For National Policy (CNP), conceded his march against Planned Parenthood after an investigation in his state found that the healthcare provider was in full compliance with all state regulations.
Pence’s investigation found no evidence backing up the CMP’s claims.
A Massachusetts state investigation also came up empty handed.
Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey said: “My office has conducted a thorough review and found that Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts’ health care centers are fully compliant with state and federal laws regarding the disposition of fetal tissue. Although donation of fetal tissue is permissible under state and federal law, PPLM does not have a tissue donation program. There is no evidence that PPLM is involved in any way in the buying or selling of tissue. As such, our review is complete.”
In Louisiana, Governor and member of the CNP Booby Jindal announced an investigation into Planned Parenthood within his state; however the inquiry was short lived because the healthcare provider does not perform abortions in the state.
Texas state Republican lawmakers began their own investigation which yielded nothing because there was no evidence that Planned Parenthood or affiliates in the Lone Star state have participated in fetal donation.
In fact, the one and only time the Houston Planned Parenthood was approached by a bio tech corporation was the fake “Biomax” firm created by the CMP for their defamatory videos.
Regardless of this fact, Republican state senators refused to accept the evidence and began brainstorming on how to restrict access to abortions and defund Planned Parenthood.
Ken Paxton, attorney general for Texas claimed that he received CMP videos that have not been made public, but no evidence of this has manifested either.
California attorney general Kamala Harris has not uncovered any proof Planned Parenthood is selling fetal tissue, even though she launched an investigation after the CMP videos were released.
Instead, Harris pointed out that “allegations that individuals impersonated corporate officials from a fake biologics company, resulting in the release of secretly filmed videos of Planned Parenthood physicians without their consent” may constitute a violation of California laws and her office is working on their own investigation in the CMP.
