FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda A political commentator says Western countries attempt to drag Moscow into a war over its alleged role in the Ukraine crisis as they fear Russia’s growing influence in global economy, Press TV reports.
Mike Billington, with the Executive Intelligence Review weekly, told Press TV in a recent interview that the Western states and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) use “unbelievable lies” to provoke a war involving Russia over the country’s alleged role in the unrest in Ukraine.
The Westerners and NATO use “unbelievable lies to justify what they intend to make a war not because of anything Russia has done in terms of Ukraine but really because Russia, China, India, the rest of the BRICS [group of emerging powers]… have essentially changed world history,” he added.
Billington also pointed to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine’s volatile cities of Donetsk and Lugansk, saying the West has no worries over the situation in the conflict-torn eastern areas.
Ukraine’s eastern regions have witnessed deadly clashes between pro-Russia protesters and the Ukrainian army since Kiev launched military operations there in mid-April.
Kiev has called on NATO and the European Union to send military assistance for its troops in the east of the country.
