‘West must ease hostile ways with Iran’

Chinese Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Ma Zhaoxu made the remarks on Friday in a meeting with Deputy Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Baqeri in the Turkish city of Istanbul ahead of the new round of negotiations between Iran and the P5+1.

The first round of talks should focus on determining the major principles and the objectives of the talks to guarantee a smooth start for the negotiations, IRNA reported.

Baqeri, for his part, said Iran has entered the talks with innovation and a constructive approach.

During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on the prospects of the comprehensive talks between Iran and the P5+1 comprising Russia, China, Britain, France, the US and Germany.

Iran and the P5+1 are scheduled to resume a fresh round of multifaceted talks in Istanbul on Saturday.

Tehran and the P5+1 have held two rounds of talks, one in Geneva in December 2010 and another in Istanbul in January 2011.

The second round of the negotiations will be held in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, the date of which, however, will be announced at the end of the Istanbul meeting.
