Virtue is the perfect good which is the compliment to a happy life; the only immortal thing that belongs to mortality.” ~ Seneca
The great philosophical thinker Aristotle (384-322 B.C.E.) possessed one of the few really encyclopedic minds ever produced by the West, and still accepted by many today as the worlds leading philosopher. To Aristotle, man’s happiness consisted within the construct of virtue—the mean between two extremes, and stated: “Even if happiness is not sent by Gods, but is the result of virtue and of learning of discipline of some kind, it is apparently one of the most divine things in the world; for it would appear that that which is the prize and end of virtue is the supreme good, and in its nature divine and blessed.”
Through the various ethnic mythologies of the Euro pantheons, virtue remains an ever consistent and important underlining goodness that molds the essential model character behind our great heroes of legend in their own personal quest. Virtue also serves to guide and to instruct all aspirants to higher levels of being and completion. The arts in particular are perhaps the vehicle with the greatest impact that are bound in essence to express the divine virtues with a seemingly infinite perfectibility. The world would be a dull and gloomy place without the arts, but the arts can only take us so far. It has been said that living beauty is far better than the fairest plastic art, and nobler even than intelligence; for it is the source of one soul and the purpose of the other. If life were beautiful it would not need to be intelligent; but if it were intelligent it would still strive to become beautiful.
There is no man but approves of virtue, though but few pursue it.” ~ Seneca
The overriding cause of evil in man is ignorance. Hence, to reach the good we must have knowledge, and so the good is to be found in knowledge just so long as it remains guided by virtue. The link between good and knowledge is a mark of Ariosophic thought throughout. Christianity, as Bertrand Russel pointed out, is quite opposed to this. Clearly, Christian ethics proclaim, “The important thing is a pure heart”, as Russell stated, “and that is likely to be found more readily among the ignorant.” William Blake, the gnostic artist and poet of the 19th century, was completely right when he declared, “I tell you, no virtue can exist but by breaking these ten commandments.” We must recognize that in some sense, the eternal good of virtue is more vital than other things. Losses of material possession can always, in some measure, be replaced, but if one lose his respect, he becomes less than human.
It is impossible to calculate the moral mischief, if I may so express it, that mental lying has produced in society. When a man has so far corrupted and prostituted the chastity of his mind as to subscribe his professional belief to things he does not believe, he has prepared himself for the commission of every other crime. He takes up the trade of a priest for the sake of gain, and, in order to qualify himself for that trade, he begins with a perjury. Can we conceive anything more destructive to morality than this?” ~ Thomas Paine
The ethics of the ancestral Euro tribes are marked by three basic principles. The first is called, “The Law of Nature” or (Natural Law). The natural law prescribes the good for man, race and society. The second principle is “Happiness” or “Well-Being”. This principle refers to the perfection of our biological and psychological being, which is the goal of all virtuous effort. Such perfection is achieved only by the development of proper habits. Good habits are called virtues; bad habits, vices. “Virtue” is thus the third principle of Aryan ethics. It is the primary internal cause of “Good and Happiness”, and human activity in accordance with virtue is the very definition of happiness itself. The virtues come neither by Nature nor against Nature, but Nature gives the capacity for acquiring them. This is developed by training and examples, which is why the ancestral mythology of an indigenous culture is so very significant for the upward development and perfection of both individual and race.
The ethnic Gods of one’s folk mirror back to them symbolically as model archetypes, that from which we highly revere, honor and strive to become. Through these divine pantheons we share our common folk consciousness, spirituality, ancestry and secrets of our origin. This virtue that we possess, when it has taken up the full conscious connection of our folk Gods and religion, sharpens the vision of both the eye, mind and soul of the individual and the race itself so that the better choice of the good rejects the opposite—a virtue we call “prudence”, because it foresees.
In a sound and healthy ethnic tribal society the laws should be a reflection of the virtues that the people of those tribes hold. True law should not be a product of human thought, nor should it be solely an enactment of the people, but something eternal, which rules the whole universe by its wisdom in command and prohibition. Through history it has been a custom to say that law is the primal and ultimate mind of God, whose reason directs all things, either by compulsion or restraint. Virtue then we might say is divinity lodged in the flesh. Wherefore, these laws which our Gods have bestowed upon us have been justly and rightly planted. Today’s corrupt and unjust laws are a direct reflection of a sick and degenerate society which both denies Nature’s standards and our Gods as well.
Beauty is the mark God sets upon virtue. Every natural action is graceful. Every heroic act is also decent, and causes the place and bystanders to shine.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
It is important to remember that the good man is good throughout all his life and not merely in parts. The greater part of that good consists in his loyalty, according to the spirit performing his duties and filling his place as a member of a family, race and society. He will find that, when he has satisfied the demands of these spheres upon him, he will in the main have covered the claims of what he calls good self.
There are those who content themselves with putting the blame for our current condition on the “enemy”, but it is we ourselves who have become our worst enemy by consciously and actively contributing to our own deterioration as a race and culture. What is vital above all right now, is that we heighten our ethnic awareness and get rooted in our ancestral heritage as a people, and cultivate a clear ethnic “vision” healthy and vibrant, as our pagan ancestors had lived in perfect harmony with Nature’s law for thousands of years. As individual human beings, we constantly strive to reach perfection and full development of both body and mind. The highest and most exalted phase or mode of Consciousness is the desire of the Soul to manifest to its highest degree. Mankind will never find real happiness until he or she has developed to a perfect balance of body, mind and soul. This shockproof balance must be achieved inside the soul. “Man must be arched and buttressed from within.”, says Marcus Aurelius, “else the temple wavers to dust.” But these sustaining arches can never be raised until the temple of man’s soul is at peace with itself and the people of which he is a part.
Our ethnic Nine Noble Virtues become the guides of our conduct and laws of our being, which are social ideals that have been rooted in the D.N.A, of our people since our origin. They directly involve relation to ourselves as individuals and our race as a whole, and if you remove any of them, you immediately make the effective practice of these virtues impossible… man is not man at all unless social, but man is not above the beasts unless more than social. In the Neitzschean perspective we would say that he must go beyond good and evil, he must transcend the common man and lift himself to the sphere of the Ubermensch, (Overman) that bridge that spans between mortal man and the Gods of our folk. The Chinese writings on such subjects is not all that different from our own in the Western World. In the writings of Confucius he states: “The higher man seeks all that he wants in himself; the lower man seeks all that he wants from others. The higher man is anxious lest he should not get the truth; he is not anxious lest poverty should come upon him. He is distressed by his want of ability, not by other men’s knowing him. The thing wherein the higher man cannot be excelled is simply this: his work, which other men cannot see.”
In current times the democratic delusion and its universalist principles have contributed largely to the collapse of Western Civilization. By our opposing the development of a healthy ethnic society, we clearly and assuredly pave the way for mediocrity, vulgarity and ultimately our own genetic and cultural destruction. The highest form of a society is that which maintains a natural course of evolution, ensuring that the best brains of the community shall assume preponderant influence in the guidance of its affairs. This is called a “Meritocracy”. Nature dictates explicitly that individuals as well as human species are not equal, just as nothing at all is equal throughout the extended universe. Therefore, each to his ability and the freedom to reach his greatest possible potential. The attempt to develop higher types by the same standards of the lower is a travesty which directly hamstrings all progress for the higher individual and ruins all hope for social amelioration. It is incumbent on any healthy society to produce the largest possible number of truly superior men and women—of robust health, overflowing energy, unspoiled instinct and mental ability to analyze and create—and above all to cultivate that high and noble elevated spirit of man’s ultimate potential, which will, if left to its own devices, greatly benefit all of humanity and the planet. To do the opposite which we are doing now is a sure recipe for chaos, degeneration and destruction of everything worthy!
The professional politicians are more than ever our masters. After fifty years of struggle they have finally defeated their enemy, the reformer. Mediocrity has won. Everywhere intelligence has fled from the hustlings of democracy as from an engulfing torrent. Fools are in the saddle and ride mankind.” ~ Will Durant
Only that is good for a nation which comes from its own core and from its own seed, impelled by its own self-realization and “Will To Be”. The ancient indigenous spiritual path of Wotanism and Druidism and other ancestral ethnic pagan paths are a superior counterforce to the increasing chaos of our times. These paths provide a full and intimate expansion of sound minded Nature based spiritual consciousness, knowledge, and ethics. They are Nature based religions that encourage a people to raise themselves to their highest strengths, awareness and potential. While at the same time they keep us ever conscious of the necessity to honor and respect Nature and our planet which sustains all living life. Just as our bodies are a divine gift from the gods, so likewise is the planet upon which we live. Through our divine mysteries, pantheons, mythologies, and heroic legends are contained the essential ethnic life philosophies that spring from the very vital core of our ancestral being.
High Gods of Asgard! Be with us and guide us through our fleeting lives here in Midgard. Lead us by the awesome power of your strength and Noble grace. Point us to the pathway of Duty. Bear with us when we stumble over the pathway which leads onward and upward into the Light. Resolute, we shall ever strive to earn our place with you! Our lives we will conduct Valiantly in your Divine image! in the midst of the radiant splendor of eternal Truth, in the Halls of High Valhalla! And we shall be ever grateful! Hail to our divine gods, from Midgard to Asgard and to the heavens without!”
