Gilat Kulang lost her husband in the Bulgaria bombing that killed 5 Israeli tourists last week, and according to new statements she has given from the hospital she is being treated in, the bomber whose deadly charge exploded on the bus was arguing with her husband prior to the explosion and may have had his explosives detonated remotely by someone else.
“He [the bomber] got on the bus, pushed their bags aside and put his own,” she said. “They began to argue with him, then probably the operator, who saw them from afar – turned on the cargo.”
The Daily Mail reported on Sunday that a second suspect involved in the Bulgaria bombing, who is believed to have fled the scene with a U.S. passport, is the subject of increased security in London, where Israeli athletes are scheduled to compete in the upcoming Olympic Games.
British security officials have heightened their assessment of threats against the Israeli delegation in London, and security officials from Israel have been dispatched to Britain to help protect the Israeli team, according to the report.
Athletes with the Israeli delegation have stated that they feel safe in London ahead of the opening ceremony on July 27th, however Shin Bet and Mossad officials are taking extra precautions to prevent any attempts by Iranian backed groups to harm members of Israel’s delegation in London.
