A political analyst says the United States and Turkey are not making any contributions to Kurds who are fighting ISIL militants near the Syrian border town of Ain al-Arab, known as Kobane to Kurds, Press TV reports.
There has been a secret understanding between Washington and Ankara not to lend any kind of support to Kurdish fighters battling the ISIL militants in the northern part of Syria, Hooshidar Daragahi, an anti-war activist, said on Sunday.
He further noted that the airstrikes by the US-led coalition against the Takfiri militants have not been “effective”, as “the bombings” do not target terrorists’ positions. He also said that “the Kurds are left alone” in Kobane.
The analyst said that the Turkish government is preventing Kurds from joining the Kurdish fighters in Kobane, adding that the move by Turkey comes as Syrian Kurdish refugees remain resolute to help the Kurds in Syria and other Kurdish regions along Turkey’s border.
The head of the administration in the Syrian border town of Kobane, Anwar Muslim, said last week that the US-led airstrikes against the ISIL terrorist group are ineffective. He noted that the airstrikes have not stopped the ISIL militants from advancing toward the town situated in the province of Aleppo.
The Takfiri ISIL terrorists have had the strategic Syrian town under siege during the past several days.
The ISIL advances come despite the US-led airstrikes on the group’s positions in Syria.
The nearly three-week intense battle for the strategic town of Kobane has forced about 200,000 of people to take refuge in Turkey.
The ISIL controls large areas of Syria’s east and north. The group sent its militants into Iraq in June, seizing large parts of land straddling the border between Syria and Iraq.
They have carried out heinous crimes in the two countries, including mass executions and beheadings of people.
