The deaths came after the drones fired two missiles on a mosque in Hassokhel town, 25 kilometers (16 miles) east of the city of Miranshah early Thursday.
The incident took place when people were leaving the mosque after their morning prayers, local residents said.
Local media said that several civilians were injured in the attack.
Five US drones were seen hovering over the site of the attack, causing a delay in rescue work over fear of more strikes.
This is the second US drone strike over the last two days.
On Wednesday, five people were killed and several others injured in a drone strike in the tribal area, which borders Afghanistan.
Washington claims its airstrikes target militants. But, on the ground, civilians have been the main victims.
The killing of Pakistani civilians, including women and children, in the US drone strikes have strained relations between the two allies, prompting Pakistani officials to send warnings to the US administration over the assaults.
Pakistanis also have held many demonstrations to condemn the United States’ violations of their country’s sovereignty.
