US imposes ban on Iran Intel. Ministry

A statement by the US Department of Treasury said on Thursday that the sanctions bar US nationals from doing business with the ministry and also include a freeze on the ministry’s assets under the US jurisdiction and a visa ban on all its members.

The US Treasury alleged that Iran’s Intelligence Ministry provides financial, material or technological support for the Lebanese Hezbollah group, and the Palestinian Hamas movement and has participated in multiple joint projects with Hezbollah in computer hacking.

The statement also accused the Iranian ministry of facilitating the movement of al-Qaeda operatives in Iran in addition to providing money and weapons to al-Qaeda in Iraq.

“Today we have designated the Ministry of Intelligence for abusing…human rights and…supporting the Syrian regime’s crackdown on its own population,” Under Secretary of Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence David Cohen said.

The US and Israel have been accusing Iran of harboring terrorism despite the fact that Iran is among main victims of terrorism and thousands of Iranians from different walks of life including a former president have been killed by terrorists.

In the latest wave of Israeli-sponsored terrorism, four Iranian nuclear scientists were killed in the space of two years in terrorist attacks.

Two senior US officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed to the NBC News on February 10 that the Israeli spy agency, Mossad, finances and trains the MKO terrorists to assassinate Iranian nuclear scientists.
