US election 2012: Republican candidates as voters have never seen them before

Newton Leroy Gingrich was involved in football, the Thespian Society and the
debate team. He left Baker High School in Columbus, Georgia, in 1961 and was
voted “Most Intellectual”.

Under his yearbook photo is the caption: “Specialization [sic] may
produce success, but greatness is acquired only through generalization [sic]”

Ron Paul was the student council president as well as being involved in
wrestling and tumbling at the Dorment High School, Pittsburgh, in 1953. He
was voted “Best All-Round Student”.

Herman Cain, who went to school in Atlanta, Georgia, was voted “Most likely to
Succeed” in his yearbook entry.

Although out of the race before it started, Sarah Palin showed her prowess in
basketball in her younger years, snatching the ball from her floored
team-mates. Leaving Wasilla High School, Alaska, in 1982, she was also a
keen cross-country runner and was a member of the Fellowship of Christian
Athletes.
