‘US dreads Iranians’ turnout in elections’

Chairman of the Majlis Cultural Committee Gholam Ali Haddad-Adel also said on Sunday that the mass participation of the Iranian people in the upcoming Majlis elections would be a serious blow to the enemies.

Enemies cannot block the progress of the Iranian nation, particularly in the nuclear field, the legislator stated, stressing that Iranians will make further advancements despite the sanctions against the country.

Haddad-Adel called for the mass participation of Iranians in the 9th parliamentary elections, due on March 2, to thwart the enemies’ plots.

Iran’s Guardian Council, charged with supervising the elections, approved the competence of more than 3,400 candidates to compete for 290 Majlis seats.

On February 21, Iran’s Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar said that 48,288,799 people are eligible to cast their ballots in the upcoming vote.
