An unnamed “senior” US official is being quoted in the Jerusalem Post tonight rejecting claims made earlier today by a similarly unnamed Israeli official about the ongoing P5+1 nuclear talks with Iran.
The Israeli official claimed that President Obama has conceded to “80 percent of Iran’s demands” on the nuclear talks, though it was unclear what those demands actually were.
The US official insisted the claim was “complete nonsense,” though he similarly provided no insight into where the talks actually stand, in keeping with the administration’s desire to keep such details secret.
While nominally US negotiations are aimed at ensuring that Iran’s civilian nuclear program remains civilian in nature, much of the public effort by administration officials is to insist that they aren’t giving Iran what they want.
