US and Russia clash in UN Security Council over Syria

A draft resolution formed by the Arab League, which is backed by the US and EU, claims Assad’s resignation is the only way to bring peace to the war torn country. Assad has been condemned for using government forces to attack anti-government protesters which has brought civil across the country. Moscow fears that this resolution will only give way for the west to bring in military forces to Syria and has threatened to veto the resolution.
