US ambassador Derek Mitchell arrives in Burma
BBC – The first US ambassador to Burma in 22 years, Derek Mitchell, has arrived in the country and met President Thein Sein. His arrival comes as the US is expected to further ease sanctions on Burma this week. It suspended investment sanctions against Burma last month. Burma has embarked on a series of democratic reforms, including the unbanning of the opposition and the release of political prisoners. Read article
