They showed that as the government offensive that has claimed an estimated
7,000 lives intensified, she shopped online in London and Paris, spending

“Some women struggle for their image and some women struggle for survival,”
the video states. “Stop your husband and his supporters. Stop being a

Meanwhile, Ban Ki-moon, UN secretary general, said yesterday that the current
mission to oversee an end to violence in Syria may need to bring in its own
aircraft to ensure that a firm ceasefire takes hold throughout the country.
The six-day-old truce has held in some parts of Syria since Mr Assad pledged
to enforce it last week.
But in strong opposition areas such as Homs, Hama, Idlib and Deraa the army
continues to attack and battle rebels, using heavy weapons in violation of
the pledge by Damascus to pull back.
Some opposition groups reported that at least 50 people were killed across the
country on Tuesday.
The overall level of violence is down since the ceasefire formally took effect
Thursday, but the regime has gradually stepped up attacks. The number of
people killed every day has also risen steadily since a brief lull that
coincided with the start of the truce.
More than 9,000 people have been killed since the uprising to oust Assad began
13 months ago, according to the UN.
