UK police blow up tourist car in London

The visitor’s car broke down near the building of the British Parliament and was intentionally blown up by police forces, the Independent.ie reported.

Nima Hosseini Razi had technical problems with his Ford Mondeo while driving around Parliament Square last week. His car eventually broke down next to the House of Commons and Westminster Abbey.

Razi left a note on the dashboard that read: “Dear Sir or Madam, this car is broken. I am just waiting for the AA to arrive. Please do not fine! Thank you, yours sincerely.”

After Razi decided to visit nearby London sites while waiting for recovery services, he returned to find that police officials used a controlled explosion after considering Razi’s car to be a risk of security.

Police officers from the Metropolitan police were searching through the remains of his abandoned car when he got back to the scene.

Adding insult to injury, a traffic warden had disputed Razi’s note on the dashboard and issued him with a penalty for parking illegally.

Moreover, security in London is becoming increasingly tight as the Olympic Games approach. But many Britons are worried about the event becoming too overwhelming for the limited number of Police officials to handle.
