The celebrity gossip magazine Closer printed a dozen private pictures of Kate that were taken during the couple’s holiday at the French chateau owned by Lord Linely, the British Queen’s nephew.

“St. James’s Palace confirms that legal proceedings for breach of privacy have been commenced today in France by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge against the publishers of Closer Magazine France,” Reuters quoted the royal couple’s office as saying.

Kate’s private shots published on four pages in the magazine was a blow to the Buckingham Palace as it struggles to move on from a scandal over naked pictures of Prince Harry, the third in line to the British throne.

Earlier in August, the US website TMZ.com published naked photos of Harry in Las Vegas, reportedly playing “strip billiards” in a high rollers suite at the Wynn and Encore hotel complex.
