(Scroll down for video) To make it as a national bodybuilder champion takes some real hard work.
Now, two Utah sisters shared a long road and motivated each other all the way. The two were pregnant together, new mothers together and now both are national bodybuilding champions together.
The sisters, 29-year-old Holly Semanoff and 34-year-old Heugly Tiffany, were pregnant together and after their babies were born just a month apart the couple decided to get fit together.
“By having a goal, you are always more motivated, as it gives you something to fight for,” Heugly said.
The two sisters made a pact to train for a fitness competition for one year. Their schedule included weightlifting and cardio six days a week, all in preparation for the Iron Man Naturally Bodybuilding Championships in Los Angeles.
A year later, they competed nationally in the figure category.
“The day of the competition is so much fun as it is when all your work pays off,” Heugly said.
“The best and the most fun of this as I love to describe it as a beauty pageant with muscles,” Semanoff said. “It really is,” she added.
The competition is divided into subclasses based on height, so that the two sisters did not have to compete against each other. This worked out well for both of them.
“So I won my first place and then my sister has won first place as well,” Heugly said.
The sisters said they were able to succeed because they worked together and they said it’s great to look as good as they feel.
