Two people charged over Sydney shooting

Two people have been charged after a teenager was shot at a fast-food restaurant in Sydney’s southwest.

The violence erupted when two carloads of teenagers began arguing in the drive-through area of the restaurant in Pembroke Road, Minto, on December 18.

One of those present allegedly fired a single bullet from a shotgun, grazing a 17-year-old boy and causing minor injuries to his stomach.

Police arrested a 16-year-old boy at a home in St Andrews, near Minto, on Wednesday morning.

He was charged with shooting with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possessing a prohibited drug. He is due to appear in court at Campbelltown on Thursday.

A 35-year-old woman was arrested at the same St Andrews home.

It is alleged she was driving the car from the shot was fired.

She was charged with being an accessory to the shooting and is due to appear in Campbelltown Local Court on February 22.

Police were unable to confirm if the two people arrested on Wednesday are related.
