Two men escape from Oberon jail

Two men have escaped from a minimum security prison in the NSW central west.

The escapees, aged 23 and 24, were discovered missing from the Oberon Correctional Centre on Gurnang Road at 4pm (AEST) on Sunday.

The younger man, Geoffrey Peter Brown, is serving a seven-and-a-half-year sentence for driving offences, as well as aggravated break and enter and robbery offences.

He is described as Caucasian, 177cm tall, of slim build with brown hair, and hazel eyes.

Brown was wearing prison greens when he was last seen at 3.15pm.

Christopher Kenneth Little, 24, is serving a three years and two months sentence for revocation of parole, stealing, assault, and break-and-enter offences.

He is described as Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander in appearance, 175cm tall, of thin build with brown hair and brown eyes.

Little was also wearing prison greens when last sighted.

Anyone who sees the two men is urged not to approach them but dial triple zero.
