Twitter index: best Valentine’s Day ever, Chris Brown death hoax

Yesterday was the “Best Valentine’s Day Ever,” say microbloggers who are recounting what they did or received on February 14.

Tweeps’ reasons for having such a good day include: “I ate lobster for a straight hour,” “[m]ade supper and dessert together,” “[I received a t]eddy bear, chocolate, 4 page letter, roses, balloon, lit candles, rose petals, full body massage” and “[I f]ound a peanut MM in my coat pocket.”

Reports of yet another bullying incited death are sweeping the microblog. Twitter users say a Lady Gaga fan called “Glenda Monster” committed suicide after she was teased. They insist that the “bullying needs to stop.”

Tweeps are spreading the rumor that American singer Chris Brown has died despite the fact that he is still alive and tweeting (his most recent message — which included only the word “Cool!” — was posted less than an hour ago).

Turkish speaking microbloggers are explaining why they are happy using the term “#mutluyumcunku” (“I’m happy because”) while Spanish speaking microbloggers are explaining why love hurts (“Amarte Duele”).

The hashtags “#IfIsee” and “#WhyShe” appear in second and third places on Twitter’s most talked about topics. The name of the virtual Pokemon town “Pallet Town” is in sixth place.

The movie “Roll Bounce” is in ninth place and the animated TV series “American Dad” is in tenth place.
