Twilight twosome: Robert Pattinson with co-star and partner Kristen Stewart
Twilight film star Robert Pattinson has reportedly splashed out about £4million on a luxury mansion in Los Angeles.
The 25-year-old British actor, who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the movies, is believed to have bought a three-bedroom Spanish colonial-style property in the trendy Los Feliz area of the city.
Publicly available records show the home was bought by the Longford Trust, which is administered by Pattinson’s long-time manager and friend Nick Frenkel.
It is understood that the actor, currently in Berlin for the premiere of his latest film, the period drama Bel Ami, moved into the house only recently despite making the purchase last September.
A source said: ‘It is a gorgeous property with sprawling grounds which include a solar-heated swimming pool.
There are three big bedrooms and three bathrooms, and the whole place is walled, gated and has a state-of-the-art security system.’
Pattinson and his Twilight co-star and real-life partner Kristen Stewart, 21, are believed to share the 4,000 sq ft home.
Ironically, the neighbouring house is owned and occupied by the Order of Columban Fathers, a missionary group of Catholic priests.
A local estate agent joked: ‘I doubt they will be too concerned to have a vampire living in their midst.’
Pattinson’s house was originally built in 1921.
The grounds contain a private amphitheatre and there is an extensive wine cellar.
Sprawling: Pattinson’s colonial-style property in the LA suburb of Los Feliz
Previous owners include ER star Noah Wyle and Australian film director Robert Luketic (Legally Blonde).
Neighbours include singer Gwen Stefani and husband Gavin Rossdale.
The Los Feliz area is considered ‘super-trendy’.
Madonna owned a house there, and Will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas and Flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers live in the LA suburb.

The cost of a home in the LA area depends on one thing. Location! Location! Location!. The parcel of land that a house sit’s on and the infrastructure, is often the major expense. Swimming pools are often built over…nothing! Pilings support them jutting out from the hills. This cannot usually be seen from an air view. i’ts a facinating view, just to take a winding drive through the canyons and gorges if only from an architechs view point. The weather is usually perfection. The negative ? The earthquakes!

I hope this home will give him or them, if that’s the case, the privacy desperately wanted. A good personal life is really all that matters.

Well it’s time he settled down. He is always saying he does not have a house of his own and lives in hotel suits basically.
It’s too bad the press found out about this house though. I think one of the reasons he was reluctant to buy property is because he does not want the paps to camp out in front of it. Hope they won’t bother him and Kristen much.
