On Tuesday 19 June, Titchmarsh said, “I got very angry during the Diamond Jubilee coverage when the Queen was wrongly called ‘Her Royal Highness’ and presenters were vague on facts.”
Since the Diamond Jubilee took place, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has constantly been hit with complaints for the way it broadcasted the river pageant, with a large audience disapproving its commentary, camera angles and sound quality.
The BBC received more than 4,500 criticisms that mostly related to the river pageant and the commentary during the national show.
Some individuals created mockery themes of the Diamond Jubilee like discussing a Jubilee-themed sick bag that Paloma Faith and Fearne Cotton were part of.
One of the event’s presenters Clare Balding, admitted that the river pageant coverage “misfired’, while broadcaster Stephen Fry called the four-and-a-half hour broadcast “mind-numbingly tedious”.
Many people are also very critical of the BBC, as it failed to broadcast the peaceful marches of the opposing ‘Republicans’ who denounce the Diamond Jubilee act, along with the existence of the monarchy.
