Turkish protesters slam anti-Islam film

The protesters, belonging to the youth branch of Felicity Party, chanted anti-US and anti-Israel slogans and described the production of the “American-Zionist” film as an inhumane and indecent action.

Head of the youth branch of the party, Fatih Demir, referred to the US government’s terrorist nature as the major factor behind all brutalities in the region, saying, “The oppressive US is responsible for all the bloodshed in the region.”

Demir further called for serious action by the Turkish government against the movie, saying, the superficial criticism of the film by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has not convinced the Turkish people.

The angry protesters also criticized the American and Zionist supporters of the blasphemous movie, demanding the trial of the producers and distributors of it.

The demonstration was held under tight security measures, and the protesters eventually dispersed while chanting “God is the greatest.”

Earlier on Friday, hundreds of protesters marched through the streets in the city of Istanbul after Friday prayers and burned US and Israeli flags and chanted anti-US and anti-Israel slogans.

The controversial movie that has sparked outrage in the Muslim world has been produced by an anti-Islam Israeli-American, according to US media.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday that “Israeli-American Sam Bacile” has directed and produced the blasphemous movie.

The report claimed that, Bacile, has assumed responsibility for the film, which he said was made thanks to Jewish donations totaling USD 5 million.
