“I hail Iran’s stance, because it is a country that says ‘no’ to imperialism, but the West is based on imperialism,” Mustafa Kamalak told Press TV in an exclusive interview on Wednesday.
“All those who say to Iran that ‘you are producing nuclear weapons’ and threaten it (Iran), possess nuclear weapons,” Kamalak said.
The Turkish politician went on to emphasize that the West’s dual standards with respect to Iran’s nuclear energy program is “unacceptable.”
Iran maintains that, as a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency, it has every right to acquire and develop nuclear technology for peaceful objectives.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said on Wednesday that Tehran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany (P5+1) will hold a fresh round of comprehensive negotiations on April 13, adding that the venue for the talks will be announced soon.
Representatives of Iran and the P5+1 countries have so far held two rounds of talks, one in Geneva in December 2010 and another in the Turkish city of Istanbul in January 2011.
