Activists in turkey have held a rally in Ankara to protest the installation of parts of a NATO missile system on Turkish soil.

The protesters say the agreement between Turkey and Washington has turned the country to the forefront of imperialism and an open target for war.

They called on the US to leave the region and stressed they are determined to stop the military installation in the south-eastern province of Malatya.

Some leading politicians and lawmakers have also warned that the missile system will only serve Israel’s interests. In September, Ankara and Washington agreed to have parts of the missile system installed in the Turkish village of Kurechik. Since then, several protests have been held to condemn the plan.
