Organized by Iran’s Cultural Office in Istanbul and the Izmir Municipality, the exhibition kicked off during a ceremony on February 11.
Iranian consul general in Istanbul Mahmoud Heydari attended the opening ceremony along with a number of Persian art lovers and Turkish officials.
Heydari introduced parts of Iranian history and traditions during a speech and stated that such exhibitions and cultural exchanges help nations to become more acquainted with different cultures.
The event displays various Persian art forms including miniature, engraved handicrafts and mosaic created by artists from the historical city of Isfahan.
The Iranian music ensemble, Roudakian, also performed Persian traditional music during the opening ceremony, which was warmly welcomed by the audience.
