President Trump has ordered an immediate investigation into Barack Obama and members of his administration for meddling in the 2016 election.
Hot on the heels of the DHS announcement that several million illegals voted for Hillary, the President lashed out at the previous administration, demanding that special counsel Robert Mueller investigate Obama immediately.
‘If all of the Russian meddling took place during the Obama Administration, right up to January 20th, why aren’t they the subject of the investigation?’ Trump asked on Twitter.
‘Why didn’t Obama do something about the meddling? Why aren’t Dem crimes under investigation? Ask Jeff Session!’ he added.
Dailymail.co.uk reports: Special Counsel Robert Mueller has shown no sign that he’s interested in probing whether the Obama administration was lax in its follow-up once Russia’s interference was detected.
Trump had blasted Obama on Tuesday for downplaying the role Russians had in trying to affect the outcome of the 2016 election.
He quoted the former president saying on October 18, 2016 that America’s elections couldn’t be ‘rigged.’
‘There is no serious person out there who would suggest somehow that you could even rig America’s elections, there’s no evidence that that has happened in the past or that it will happen this time, and so I’d invite Mr. Trump to stop whining and make his case to get votes,’ Obama said then.
Trump quoted him in full in a tweet, and then claimed in a follow-up that Obama at the time ‘thought Crooked Hillary [Clinton] was going to win and he didn’t want to “rock the boat.” When I easily won the Electoral College, the whole game changed and the Russian excuse became the narrative of the Dems.
Driving his point home, Trump tweeted later in the morning that ‘I have been much tougher on Russia than Obama, just look at the facts. Total Fake News!’
Trump also clobbered Obama Monday, setting the stage for the week’s daily thrashing.
‘Obama was President up to, and beyond, the 2016 Election. So why didn’t he do something about Russian meddling?’ he tweeted then.
In the weeks leading up to Election Day, Trump promoted the idea that the threat of rampant voter fraud, combined with widespread bias against him in the political press, would combine to ‘rig’ the election, expecially in the crucial swing state of Florida.
He didn’t talk about foreign interference, though, despite his suggestion on Tuesday that he had a Cassandra-like prescience that Obama blasted just weeks before the election.
Obama made his remarks during a joint press conference with Italy’s then-prime minister Matteo Renzi just one day before Trump and Clinton squared off in thir third and final debate.
Hours later at a campaign rally, Trump was back to claiming that voter fraud, particularly within urban communities,
‘Voter fraud is all too common, and then they criticize us for saying that,’ he said in Colorado.
‘But take a look at Philadelphia, what’s been going on. Take a look at Chicago, take a look at St. Louis. Take a look at some of these cities, where you see things happening that are horrendous.’
‘And if you talk about it, they say bad things about you, they call you a racist,’ Trump continued.
