Adderall acts as an appetite suppressant, so a lot of celebrities abuse it to stay thin. Lindsay Lohan’s 5 pound weight gain is probably making her feel self-conscious, and she’s having a hard time controlling her eating habits without Adderall. So it’s not a good idea to make the actress feel bad about what is a tiny amount of weight — poking fun at these extra pounds might make her feel the need to find dangerous ways to slim down fast after she gets out of rehab. There was a time when Lindsay was scary skinny, so hopefully she doesn’t ever end up looking like that again.
Lindsay weight might continue to increase as her body struggles to adjust to functioning without Adderall, but this could be a good thing for the actress. She reportedly has very poor eating habits, but now that the effects of eating junk are no longer masked by Adderall, she’s been talking to a nutritionist about learning to eat healthier. Lilo’s already suffering from a lack of energy because her body got so used to relying on a drug to keep her going, and eating a lot of bad food will probably just make her feel worse.
Lindsay has said that she takes Adderall to treat Attention Deficit Disorder, but it’s possible that she’s been abusing the drug since so many young people do — it’s very popular with college kids who use it to study. The drug makes those who don’t really need it feel extremely full of energy. If Lilo doesn’t actually need her Adderall, then maybe weaning her off of the drug will actually be a big step toward the actress turning her life around — she won’t have all that extra energy to expend, so she won’t party all night and terrorize Hollywood.
So do you think that Lindsay Lohan’s 5 pound weight gain becoming such a hot topic could hurt her recovery?
