A Talmudic era tomb was vandalized in northern Israel, in an apparent price tag attack possibly committed by Druze, according to police reports in Tzfat, Israel.

Unidentified vandals damaged the grave of Yonatan Ben Uziel, a Talmudic sage, who is mentioned numerous times in Talmud. The tomb is located in Amuka, near the Israeli city of Tzfat, in northern Israel, not far from the Syrian border.

The vandals broke a sink and smashed a partition separating the men and women prayer sections.
The walls of the structure that holds the tomb were covered with black spray painted graffiti saying “Druze Price Tag” and “Hader Nebi not forgotten.”

Nebi Hader was a Druze saint, but it is unclear how the saint relates to the matter.
Tzfat Police have not made any arrests in the case as of 8:00 pm Saturday.

Yonatan Ben Uziel was the best student of Hillel the Elder, who was one of the greatest sages of the Second Temple period. Visits to the grave is believed to be useful in the search for partners for marriage and fertility.
