Toddler hit by reversing ute in Swansea Rd, Lilydale



A TODDLER is in a serious condition after being run over by a ute in Melbourne’s outer east.


The 13-month-old Eltham girl was hit after wandering behind the Ford ute reversing out of a car park on Swansea Rd, Lilydale, about 8.20pm.

Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman Susannah Wilson said the girl suffered chest and abdominal injuries and was conscious following the accident.

Paramedics worked on the girl at the scene, giving her pain relief, fluids and other treatment before taking her to the Royal Children’s Hospital in a serious condition.

The driver of the Ford is assisting police at the scene.
