WNYC is spending the afternoon talking about what is known, what might be known, what is possible, yada, yada.
Rule One — Almost everything reported initially will be wrong and will change.
It seems to me that by the time all the knowable (and releasable) facts come out, the media has moved on to some other horror, titillation, or scandal. And most people will remember mostly what was dished out in the day or so after the tragedy such as today’s killing of at least 51 people.
BTW, almost every count I’ve heard is 50 dead, 53 in hospital, and the shooter also killed. As if he wasn’t worthy of being included in the group labeled “people.” What would be wrong with saying simply 51 or whatever number is correctly know, including the shooter.
