Three officers killed in Karachi attack

Police officials told Geo News that the armed men riding on motorbikes opened fire on police officers early Thursday and escaped the scene of the attack.

The policemen succumbed to their injuries before being transported to a nearby hospital, the report said.

Police say they managed to recover empty shells of bullets used in shooting the officers, indicating that they were fired from an AK-47.

Despite the Pakistani government’s operations against militants and terrorists, they have still been able to spread their influence in various regions of the country, killing thousands of people.

Over 35,000 Pakistanis have lost their lives in bombings and other militant attacks since 2001, when Pakistan entered an alliance with the US on the so-called war on terrorism, according to local media.

Thousands more have been displaced by the wave of violence and militancy sweeping across the country.
