IT was a horror night on Victoria’s roads with three people killed and child critically injured in separate car accidents across the state.


A seven-year-old girl is in a critical condition at the Royal Children’s Hospital after she was struck while riding a bike across Waterview Boulevard in Craigieburn at 8.30pm.

The 18-year-old male driver from Craigieburn is assisting police.

A male truck diver in his mid-50s, also from Craigieburn, died in Wallan overnight after his  B-double truck drove across a median strip and several lanes of traffic before hitting a tree at 1.45am.

The man died at the scene.

In Shepherds Flat another man aged in his 50s, driving a maroon Holden Commodore station wagon, struck a guard rail on Hepburn-Newstead Rd at 1am and died at the scene.

A pedestrian died in Wandin North after he was struck by a yellow Hyundai Accent when he was lying in the middle of the Warburton Highway, near Victoria Rd at 1.30am.

The man, believed to be aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene and a 29-year-old man from Wandin, is assisting police with their investigation.

A 19-year-old P-Plate driver had her vehicle impounded for 30 days after she was caught driving almost 50km/h over the speed limit in Melbourne.

The Carnegie teenager was travelling at 109km/h in a 60km/h section of Queens Rd in South Melbourne just after 12.30am and will appear in court for various traffic related offences.
