Three die in German plane crash

On Thursday, Cessna, a single-engine aircraft which was believed to have four passengers and two crew members on board, caught fire for unknown reasons before slamming into the ground near an airport in Egelsbach at 7:00 p.m. local time (18:00 GMT).

The incident happened as Cessana which had left the Austrian city of Linz, tried to land at Egelsbach airstrip south of Frankfurt.

Offenbach police spokeswoman Kirsten Krueger said that rescuers found three bodies but were continuing their search.

The crash investigation had reportedly been conducted by experts from Germany’s flight safety authority late Thursday.
