A fire that threatened lives and property in the eastern part of Cloverdale yesterday has been contained and brought under control.
Firefighters spent the night mopping up the blaze that broke out near the Perth international and domestic airports.
A bushfire advice is still in place for people in the eastern part of Cloverdale near the airport.
The fire, which burned through 65 hectares of bushland, is currently still smouldering on the eastern side of Tonkin Highway all the way to the Airport boundary.
The blaze on the western side of Tonkin Highway has been extinguished.
The Fire and Emergency Services Authority said the cause of the fire was still unknown and while there was no threat to lives or homes anymore, residents were urged to be aware and keep up to date.
Earlier yesterday the fire was burning south of Perth Airport, from Epsom Avenue, along both sides of Dunreath Road to the new intersection of Dunreath Drive and Horrie Miller Drive, above Searle Road.
Residents in McLarty Place and Towie Street who were relocated earlier yesterday were allowed to return home last night as the threat eased.
