The Stoic Origin of Calvinism

The non-Christian origin of Calvinism:  heathen determinism.

Both Calvin and Luther got it wrong.  We do have free will, as the Bible plainly states hundreds of times after the giving of the Law in Exodus.  Giving us the Commandments would be utterly meaningless if we did not have the freedom to choose good versus evil.  Yes, Yahweh intervenes in our lives, for our benefit, and for our chastisement, but He doers NOT cause us to sin.   The concept of Freewill offering occurs 17 times in Scripture.  We are commanded to obey His Commandments.  What is the point of this command if we do not have the freedom to choose sin versus righteousness?

Jas 1:13  Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
Jas 1:14  But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of  his own lust and enticed.

The Bible has 22 verses using the word ‘tempted.’  All of them confirm that we ARE NOT tempted by Yahweh; rather, we are tempted by either the devil, by others, or by our own lust.  Calvinism is an UNSCRIPTURAL DOCTRINE DRAWN FROM GREEK STOICISM!!!

Is there a place for REPENTANCE in Calvinism?

We either have free will, or we don’t.  The Bible clearly says that we do.  If we didn’t have Free Will, then Yahweh should punish Himself for making us sin against our will.  That’s my position and I’m sticking to it.

Praise Yahweh and pass the ammunition!
