TEHRAN, Jul. 10 (MNA) – In a Sunday meeting with Zarif in Tehran, Head of Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Ammar al-Hakim said Iraq today is in exceptional conditions and terrorists are on the brink of complete obliteration.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held talks on regional issues with the President of Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq (ISCI) Ammar al-Hakim on Sunday in Tehran.
During the meeting, Zarif expressed his satisfaction with the successive victories of Iraqi Army and Popular Forces in the fight against terrorism and once again voiced his sympathy and condolences to the nation and government of Iraq over the recent terrorist attacks in the Arab country.
The Iranian top diplomat expressed confidence that the foundation of Takfiri terrorism in Iraq would soon collapse through the help of God and efforts on the part of Iraqi government and people.
He also highlighted the need for further unity among different political and ethnic groups in Iraq as well as other regional countries for the final defeat of terrorism, adding “the Islamic Republic of Iran will stand firm by Iraqi government and nation until the complete destruction of terrorists.”
Ammar al-Hakim, for his part, hailed the Islamic Republic’s supports in the fight against terrorism in Iraq, adding “presently, Iraq is in exceptional conditions and the unity among all Iraqi forces especially among the Popular Forces had been momentous for the recent victories against terrorists.”
While noting that terrorists in Iraq are on the verge of annihilation, he said “terrorists and their supporters have lost hope and arrived at the conclusion that conditions are no longer in their favor.”
“It is imperative that regional issues be resolved through dialogues by regional countries themselves, and everyone must realize that the time of using terrorist groups as political tools has come to an end,” he added.
