The agreement which was signed by Iranian Justice Minister Morteza Bakhtiari and Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan Askhat Daulbayev on Sunday consists of 21 articles.
Speaking to the reporters after signing the agreement, Bakhtiari said the interactions between Tehran and Astana are developing in all various fields and the new agreement takes the considerations of both countries into account.
He added that the agreement is in fact a comprehensive contract between the two countries for the extradition of criminals.
The Iranian minister stated that a draft agreement for the exchange of convicts between the two countries has been also prepared in order to further promote judicial cooperation between the two sides.
Daulbayev, for his part, said this was the first official meeting between judicial officials of Iran and Kazakhstan in which an important agreement has been signed.
Pointing to the economic and political cooperation between Tehran and Astana, the Kazakh official called for further promotion of collaborations in civil and legal affairs.
