A teenager who allegedly smashed his way into an 87-year-old man’s home in northern NSW before assaulting and robbing him has been charged by police.
Police say the man was asleep in his home on Acacia Street, Casino. He woke up about 1.45am (AEST) on Tuesday as the youth allegedly smashed a glass sliding door.
The teen is alleged to have knocked the man to the ground before fleeing with cash.
On Sunday, police said they had arrested an 18-year-old Casino man
He has been charged with serious offences.
He was refused bail and was due to appear in Lismore Local Court on Monday.
