Team recreates famous Inception movie scenes in Lego

Inception is a mind-bending movie to say the least, and many of its scenes are truly jaw-dropping. But as cool as many of the special effects are, there’s one thing that makes them even cooler: Legos. A team of visual effects students who go by the moniker “Team Hourglass” spent a total of 12 weeks recreating some of the most stunning clips from Inception using virtual lego locales, and the result may be even more impressive than the original film itself.

As you can see in the video above, everything from the zero-gravity action sequences to the Inception logo have been lovingly rendered using virtual Lego bricks. Ok, so it’s still special effects — as opposed to actual lego characters and scenery — but the amount of work that went into the project is still rather astounding: According to the video description, each team member spent as much as 160 hours working on the brief clip.

If you’re interested in more visual awesomeness from Team Hourglass, you can also check out Lego-fied scenes from both Men In Black and 300, both of which are done in a similarly impressive manner.
