Two poice officers were hospitalised, a tattoo studio was gutted, a restaurant evacuated, mother and her 10-year-old son hospitalised and an abandoned building almost burned to the ground in separate fires across Queensland last night.
The first fire broke out at a restaurant in New Farm at 8.15pm when the kitchen caught alight.
Two police officers happened to be outside the restaurant, on the corner Brunswick and Heal streets, when the alarm was raised and evacuated it while firefighter battled the flames.
They were taken to hospital afterwards to be treated for smoke inhalation and exposure to carbon extinguisher residue.
The next fire was at 11pm in Kings Beach in Caloundra in an abandoned block of units.
The bottom level unit was ablaze when firefighters arrived and it took them half an hour to get the fire under control.
Fifteen minutes later there was triple-0 call in Deception Bay and firefighters arrived to a blaze ripping through a house in Cork Street.
A 10-year-old boy had to be taken to Redcliffe Hospital for smoke inhalation along with his mother who was taken by paramedics as a precaution.
The last fire of the night was at tattoo studio on the corner of Taylor Street and Torquay Road in Pialba in Hervey Bay around 12.50am.
Two fire crews arrived to find the shop being gutted by a fire which police believe was lit on purpose.
It took about 20 minutes to put out the blaze and the shop was badly damaged.
Two people were seen running north along Torquay Road and police are investigating.
All the other fires are still being investigated.
